Overview
Putty-type water-swelling strip is a grey-black self-adhesive strip that can be pressed directly onto a cleaned construction joint surface and hand-shaped to irregular substrates. It suits joints above the water table and secondary locations with low water pressure.

Installation
- Clean the construction joint face of dust, sand and loose concrete.
- Peel off the release paper and press or roll the strip onto the joint face, shaping by hand.
- Butt splices by pressing flat with at least 50 mm overlap.
- Cast as soon as possible so the strip is fully encased (>5 cm cover).
- Keep it dry before casting to prevent premature swelling.
FAQ
Putty type or formed type — how do I choose?
Putty is cheaper, faster and shapeable — suited to secondary locations above the water table with low pressure. Formed type has better elasticity and pressure resistance — suited to more demanding construction joints. For ordinary basement raft and wall joints, putty 20×30 mm is enough.
If it has already swollen, can I still install it?
No. Swelling is one-way: once expanded it cannot be compressed tight, so it must be peeled off and replaced. Store delivered material under cover, protected from rain and damp.
